One of my personal favorite things about living here are the state parks! We have over 50 protected areas full of hiking trails, waterfalls, mountains and sea shores accessible year-round free of charge with a NC license plate!

In recent years there’s been an explosion of local breweries all around NC which has resulted some amazing beers exclusive to our state as well as some fantastic beer festivals throughout spring and fall!

9. Beaches

We have over 300 miles of coastline which means we have PLENTY of beaches for beach lovers like me :) From quiet family spots like Wrightsville Beach and Surf City to party spots like Myrtle Beach…you can find whatever vibe suits you!

10. There’s Always Something Going On

Festivals celebrating everything from our agricultural history (or “agricultcha” as we say around here)to arts and crafts abound all year long but especially spring through fall! If live music is more your scene we’ve got that too…and lots of it! jams year-round!
